I had a thoroughly enjoyable day and would like to thank all my exhibitors for their entry and pass on the thanks from the Society who were delighted with the entries considering that the Hound Show was the same weekend.
I have some concerns recently in our breed regarding hind movement and soundness, especially in the dogs and seeing dogs awarded with visible signs of unsoundness and their handlers seemingly unaware. However this was not the case with my winners.
I was thrilled to see my BOB win the Hound Group, RBIS and my BP RBOB gain Group 4.
Wonderful day for my first Judging appointment.
Junior 2 entries 1(1Ab)
1st Shannon Erewhon Wanton Flame
Dark, 10 month bitch. Feminine head and dark eye. Tight feet, length from hip to hock, width to hindquarters moved with drive. Held top line on the move which does seem to flatten a little when standing. Although she was full of spirit in a blustery wind and distraction from her brother ringside, she was very sound coming and going.
Challenged hard to gain BP and RBOB. Delighted to see her gain Group 4.
Post Graduate. 6 entries 3 (3Ab)
1st Shannon Erewhon Celestial Flame
Young Dog 10mths litter brother to BP. Masculine head and I loved his expression and faraway look.Good bone and tight feet. Crisp harsh coat. Plenty of bone and width.Unfortunately his ears are not his fortune flattened at present. Width hindquarters moved with drive. Good length would prefer more rise and fall. This is one I could have taken home needs time promising prospect. Felt his litter sister more finished at present in the challenge.
2nd Woolf Greyflax Oopsie Daisy
Pretty feminine light grey bitch 2yrs. Good head and lovely dark eye. Good width slightly weak front pasterns and I would have preferred more width hindquarters. Moved well and presented in lovely condition.
3rd Taylor Saint Valentine Lilly
Open 3 entries 2 (1Ab)
1st Churchill Lealla Lephin
Stood out as soon as he entered the ring. Dog 3yr. Lovely head and expression would prefer darker eye. Neat ears. Good front assembly and shoulder placement. Width to hindquarters and lovely fall away. Best mover of the day effortless with drive. Which reflected on his handler. Pleased to give him BOB and thrilled to see him win the group and take RBIS. Very well deserved against stiff competition.
2nd Taylor Saint Valentine Lilly
Feminine 2 1/2yr Bitch feminine head and correct ear placement, dark eye. Good front assembly and width to rear. Compact in side profile. Moved out with drive and purpose unfortunately was not sound hind movement which prevented me on being able to place her higher. Glynis Pink (Greyhawks)
